Often when shooting for social the sequences are constructed differently, the edits are shorter, and the color may be more stylized. The narrative is also condensed and the context is taken into account. When Amopé wanted to turn this social piece into a broadcast spot, all of the creative decisions has to be revisited and adjusted to conform to their tried and true formula, take a look and see how they compare.

When Welch’s had Odell Beckham Jr. booked for a commercial shoot he was gracious enough to give us 45 minutes of his time. That time turned into about a dozen social assets, one of which you can see here.

Hasbro Gaming is always trying to find new ways to iterate and reach new audiences. The parody games represent a millennial twist on a number of their classic properties. I directed this spot for broadcast on Target’s RED in-store TV network.

What happens when everything goes wrong with your Tom Brady staring contest video? You audible. Shortly after we arrived at the shoot we realized that our original idea wasn’t going to work, but we still had a bunch of cameras and the greatest quarterback of all time, so we tried a few different things and came up with this video which was featured across a variety of local and national media including ESPN. Also, for the record, I really did beat Tom Brady at a staring contest.

Hanging things is hard and the last thing you want is to put a bunch of holes in your walls only to have your selfie/origami/Sasquatch to look crooked. Over the course of one 12 hour shoot we put together four different sets using friends and family to fill out the cast and capture this MITX award winning campaign. 

In the era of the smart home automation has made a lot of things easier, but has it made them better? Toilet drones is a short social video that seeks to answer that question and also showcase Lysol’s new ClickGel toilet bowl cleaning product.

Where’s the best place to launch a new foaming hand soap? New York Fashion Week of course. For this video I not only followed Cynthia Rowley around for a day, but I inadvertently kicked Richard Gere out of a conference room and made direct extended eye contact with Whoopi Goldberg, for what felt like an eternity.

How do you sell an intimate lubricant without mentioning sex? This was the challenge in producing social content for K-Y. The K-Y Moment. The unexpected moments when emotional intimacy comes out in public, wether is be at an art gallery, a crowded bar, or even at a party with friends.

When RB wanted to launch their Amopé brand in the US they opted to do it on Facebook. Two years and 68 million views later it was one of their fastest rising brands drawing not only the attention of consumers but also direct collaboration with Facebook’s creative team. Over the course of two years 40+ creative assets were produced in house for Amopé often using analytics to optimize the creative.

How do you get kids interested in stem? Blow up some batteries! Working as one cog in a multidisciplinary team I produced and directed a variety of shoots and animations to bring this OMMA award winning site to fruition.

After completing UL XPLORLABS Module 1, we knew we had to raise the stakes for Module 2. That’s why I went out to the largest fire lab in the world to capture fire scientists burning all kinds of household items over and over again, each time modifying just one or two variables. I swear that my shoes still smell like burning plastic.

Over the course of a year I produced several videos to promote not just B.Good’s loyalty program, but also their Boston Harbor farm.

How do you tell the story of soup, as an ingredient in an innovative way? You attach a GoPro to it and see how many recipes you can come up with! This video was featured on the Panera at Home website and used to express how versatile Panera’s soups could be.

In an effort to capitalize on the trend of overhead recipe videos I worked with the team at Genuine to build an overhead stop motion rig and got to spend several days watching Panera ingredients cook under the heat resonating from the studio lights. All and all ten unique recipe videos were produced.

Malcolm Rogers was stepping down from the MFA and the museum wanted a way to show him just how much he meant to them. This video, featuring Deval Patrick, David Hockney, Victoria Reggie Kennedy, and Lord Norman Foster, was meant to be the emotional center of a retirement gala in his honor. It brought him to tears.

This local broadcast piece is about how your motion matters not just to you, but those around you.

Kids often have a hard time explaining why they’re not feeling well. Digestive Advantage wanted to play off that insight and have them explain how they felt in their own words.

Introducing the first all female football pregame show, with creative from Jack Morton Chicago and production coming from Genuine as well as Videolink I produced and directed all of the video content for this amazing Covergirl experience.

After we took all of the employee photos, at Genuine, we had all of these wonderfully awkward candid images that I started to pair with weird quotes that I made up. After creating a few of these, people around the office wanted to see more, so I made this series that ended up on the Genuine Instagram page. Keep in mind, I have never actually heard any of these people say these things.

Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo was going through a rebranding, they’d been a successful law firm for over 80 years but they needed something that showed off their modern culture and dedication. At Genuine we built a web experience to exemplify their, “Built on excellence. Driven by change.” mentality. My job was to translate that not only into video, but to also try to convey that in photographic portraits of every attorney at the company (over 600). A few years ago the MFA Boston wanted a video to project on a wall for their Samurai exhibit. I put together this video based on a number of still and archival assets that they provided. Ultimately they went with another vendor, but it remains one of my favorite animated pieces that I worked on.

When the MFA launched their Dale Chihuly exhibit they wanted to do so with a music video featuring a Boston based artist. The collaboration with Passion Pit made a lot of sense since their cover of the Cranberries ‘Dreams’ would connect with a wide variety of fan bases. This footage was partially provided by Chihuly as well as shot during the construction of the exhibition.

Sometimes a video doesn’t come out the way that that you had envisioned. Years ago I directed this piece for a large corporate client, it was supposed to be intercut with video of corporate leaders to illustrate how financial services is an art, just like wire sculpture. Ultimately the client decided to go in a different direction and scrapped all of this footage. Fortunately they granted us permission to use it and my colleague Michael Parks Randa put this wonderful video together as a result.

Every year Google launches workshops all over the country to educate teachers and administrators about the ways that they can help students both in and out of the classroom. For this video we witnessed and filmed three activations from Dayton, OH to Chicago, IL and all the way back to Chagrin Falls, OH.

It’s hard to capture the electricity of a Haymakers for Hope event. There is so much emotion and every fighter has an amazing story. This piece was directed by my good friend Michael Parks Randa, whose been working with this incredible organization for years. He reached out to me with a rough outline of a story and about a terabyte of footage. The result is this video, I think that we found some really incredible moments.

We had a client that wanted their own version of the Chevy Reveal videos, the problem, they’re an insurance company. We got to work on building a narrative of the work-life balance of the typical insurance agent, as well as their charitable contributions to their community, not just financially, but emotionally. We also set out to find people that were unhappy with their current jobs. We put those people in a room with our creative director, and Genuine founder Chris Pape, and captured every moment.
